PITTSBURGH — Authorities are investigating a pair of separate shooting deaths that occurred at about the same time in the Pittsburgh area.

Police in western Pennsylvania’s Allegheny County said officers in Pittsburgh were sent to the Perry South neighborhood of the city shortly after 11 p.m. Friday on a report of shots fired. They found a man dead on the porch of a vacant and condemned structure. Authorities believe there were other people on the porch with the victim at the time of the shooting. No arrests were immediately announced.

In Kennedy Township, police and paramedics were dispatched to a shooting and found a 50-year-old man shot and another man “with his hands raised over his head.” The victim died and the suspect was awaiting arraignment on a criminal homicide charge.
