Letter: Limiting Emerson Avenue traffic lanes will only create problems

To the editor:

I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed redevelopment of Emerson Avenue.

First of all, I do use the center turn lane on Emerson Avenue. I am sure I am not the only one.

Secondly, while the idea of a grass median or a raised concrete median with decorative plants sounds like an improvement, all you have to do is look around where there are existing medians with grass and concrete.

Very often the grass is not kept mowed as it should be. The concrete medians have grass growing up in them and they are not well-kept, either.

The traffic on Emerson Avenue is already challenging and by limiting available traffic lanes, the problem will only increase, especially as more businesses are added.
