SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Police in upstate New York say a 7-year-old boy has died after being hit by an SUV.

The Post-Standard reports (http://bit.ly/2u9PwpN ) police responding to reports of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian around 5 p.m. Thursday in Syracuse. Police say a 7-year-old boy was struck by a SUV.

The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police haven’t released the name of the victim or the driver of the SUV. An investigation is continuing.
