BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A county coroner was investigating the death of a diver who failed to surface at an eastern Pennsylvania recreation area.

Colonial Regional police say the body of a diver was recovered at Dutch Springs, a 100-acre lakeside recreation area in Lower Nazareth Township. Chief Roy Seiple (SY’-pul) says the diver failed to surface after joining several others for a group activity. The diving area of the lake includes submerged equipment including two sunken boats and other platforms that can be used by diving instructors and students.

The diver was reported missing and his body recovered Wednesday afternoon.

The Northampton County coroner and officials at Dutch Springs didn’t immediately return calls for additional information Thursday.
