Constance Connie Margaret (Mills) Williams

WHITELAND

Constance “Connie” M. (Mills) Williams, 81, of Whiteland, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017, in Whiteland.

She was born on August 5, 1935, in Indianapolis, to her parents, John B. and Margaret (Arvin) Mills.

Connie married Billy R. Williams on October 16, 1954 at St. Patrick’s church.

She graduated from St. John Catholic High School in 1953.

She worked for Schwab Tax Service and was an assistant librarian at the Greenwood Library.

Connie enjoyed gardening and decorating.

She was a member of a women’s euchre club for over 40 years.

Connie was an active member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, also for over 40 years, where she enjoyed helping in the food pantry. She participated in the Knights of Columbus catering program. Connie also spent several years working with the SMT Guild (a charitable organization for priests).

Connie is survived by her husband, Billy R. Williams of Whiteland; five children, Bill Williams of Indianapolis, Dan (Vicki) Williams of Greenwood, Scott (Kim) Williams of Danville, Shawn (Paul) Leighton and Lora (Todd) Casbon both of Greenwood; one brother, Jerry Mills of Texas; and 11 grandchildren, Kyle Williams, Evan Williams, Jake Williams, Zach Vandagrifft, Amber Aker, Karlie Vandagrifft, Haley Vandagrifft, Kyler Casbon, Brianne Leighton, Maggie Leighton and Nicki Leighton.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Roger, Fred, Edward, Paul, Johnny, Alberta, Helen and Evelyn.

The family will be hosting a visitation from 10:30 until 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following, on Saturday, August 5 at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 South Meridian St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel.
