PHILADELPHIA — Authorities have released the name of a man being sought in a suburban Philadelphia slaying and shots fired earlier in northwest Philadelphia.

Lt. John Walker of the Philadelphia police southwest detectives division said Tuesday that police recovered a car believed to have been used in both shootings and are seeking 24-year-old Derrick Rollins.

Walker said a man in a red hooded sweat shirt seen looking into an Overbrook window was confronted by the homeowner and a neighbor. Walker said the suspect fired 17 shots, hitting their car twice, and pursued them into Montgomery County’s Haverford Township, where 29-year-old John Le was killed outside an Ardmore apartment less than an hour later.

Walker said .40 caliber bullet casings from the two shootings match. Rollins is being considered armed and dangerous.
