CONCORD, N.C. — Officials in a North Carolina city ay their drinking water is safe, even though the color doesn’t look right.

The Charlotte Observer reported that Concord officials said Monday night their water is safe to drink. Officials say the discoloration comes from a water main break near the junction of some of the oldest water lines in the city.

The city said in a news release that water resources staff members are closely monitoring water pressure and quality.
