LOS ANGELES — Authorities say a gunman who barricaded himself inside an East Los Angeles home has been found dead after a three-hour standoff.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says a report of an assault with a deadly weapon sent sheriff’s deputies to the home on Floral Drive Tuesday morning.

Three people ran from the home as deputies arrived.

Two had been shot and were taken to hospitals but there’s no word on their conditions.

Deputies evacuated nearby homes.

Just before noon, SWAT officers entered the home and found a man dead inside. There’s no immediate word on what caused his death.
