Local woman arrested on drug, paraphernalia charges

A woman was arrested outside a Greenwood hotel after methamphetamine and prescription pills were found in her vehicle, police said.

Jennifer Lee Anderson, 35, Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and dealing methamphetamine.

A Greenwood police officer stopped to check on a suspicious vehicle near a Greenwood hotel in the 1100 block of Main Street just before 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

A man and woman were inside the vehicle, and another man was standing outside. Inside the vehicle, on Anderson’s seat, they found a bag with nearly 30 grams of methamphetamine, prescription pills, scales and what was suspected to be a ledger of drug deals, according to the police report.

Anderson told police the vehicle was hers, but the drugs and other items did not belong to her, the report said.

Anderson, 5508 Armstrong Drive, was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where she was held $49,000 bond.
