Credit card use leads to car theft suspect

A Johnson County man was arrested after a nearly two-month-long investigation into a stolen car.

On May 30, police were called to Buckmoor Parkway in the Center Grove area after a woman reported her car was stolen, along with personal items in the vehicle — including her son’s credit card.

A week later, that credit card was used at Von Maur in Greenwood, according to a police report.

The owner of the card noticed a charge for Von Maur, which he didn’t make and did not give anyone permission to make. Johnson County Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to get video footage of the transaction, which led them to Conner David Roark, 21, Greenwood, the report said.

He was arrested on a charge of fraud Wednesday.

Roark, 1222 Mount Brook Court, Greenwood, was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $1,200 bond.
