A Greenwood woman was arrested after police said she brought tobacco and drugs into a state prison while trying to visit an offender.
Sarah Maxie, 33, planned to visit offender Justin Legan at the Putnamville Correctional Facility, but was questioned by investigators when she entered the facility. Maxie had tobacco and heroin on her, a report said.
At the time, Maxie also had her daughter with her, according to the Putnamville Correctional Facility. The Indiana Department of Child Services was contacted, and they took the child, a report said.
She was arrested on charges of conspiracy/attempted dealing of a narcotic drug and neglect of a dependent. She is being held at the Putnam County Jail on $300,000 bond.
