Lilly Scholarship accepting applications

The Johnson County Community Foundation will award three Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships in 2018.

The number of Lilly Endowment Scholarships available to each county in Indiana is based on population. Most recently, Johnson County has awarded two Lilly Scholarships.

Recipients receive full tuition to the Indiana college or university of their choice and a $900 yearly stipend for books and equipment.

Online applications for the 2018 Lilly Scholarship will open today and are due Aug. 25.

Winners are selected based on volunteer community service, academic preparation and performance, leadership and good character.

Indian Creek to host blood drive

Indian Creek High School will host a blood drive later this month.

You can give blood from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the school, 803 W. Indian Creek Drive, Trafalgar.

Art fair and open house planned

Parents of prospective preschool students can check out an art fair and open house in August.

Smart Start Childcare and Preschool, 203 Commerce Drive, Franklin will have an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4.

Whiteland students awarded scholarships

Three Whiteland Community High School students have earned scholarships through the Alaina Day Memorial Foundation.

They were give $6,000 total through the foundation.

They are:

Alex Asher, University of Indianapolis

Jessyca Napier, Indiana University Northwest

Allison Curtis, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
