Residents traveling through Franklin could have a new stop to get gas, snacks and beverages.
A new Casey’s General Store has been proposed to go on the corner of State Road 144 and State Road 44, just west of Johnson Memorial Hospital.
The lot, which currently is vacant, must first be rezoned, followed by a multi-step process to begin development.
A public hearing will be conducted, and the rezoning has to be approved by the plan commission and city council, Franklin senior planner Joanna Myers said.
Casey’s General Store is an Iowa-based national company with nearly 2,000 locations.
