ELKO, Nev. — A Nevada inmate who walked away from a fire camp earlier this week has been recaptured.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports (http://bit.ly/2u1NDIx ) 27-year-old Jordan Shane Redger was taken into custody on Friday after being located at a house in Ryndon.

The minimum-security inmate escaped from the camp near Deeth on Wednesday.

He was booked into Elko County Jail for the retake warrant and will be returning to custody after arraignment this week.

The camp he escaped from is for minimum-security inmates who are scheduled to be released within two years.

Inmates in the camps are trained to fight wildfires and are deployed to handle weed abatement, highway cleanup and other jobs.
