Mary J. Hoffman

GREENWOOD

Mary J. Hoffman, 77, of Greenwood, formerly of South Bend, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka.

She was born May 29, 1940, in Kentucky to Fred and Ethel Yates. She married the love of her life, Ray Hoffman on June 7, 1958, in South Bend. She previously, along with her husband Ray, owned and operated Pee Wee’s store in South Bend for five years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Penny DiPomazio (Greg) of Lubbock, Texas, Stephen Hoffman (Cathy) of Mishawaka, Diane Klaum of Lawrence, and Connie Pitman (Daynen) of New Whiteland; six grandchildren, Rachel Long (Keith) of Franklin, Justin Pitman (Brittany) of Bluffton, Allen Klaum of Lawrence, Kalie Pitman of New Whiteland, Amber Klaum of Indianapolis and Amanda Klaum of Lawrence and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings and grandchild Christina Swihart.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m.  Wednesday in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, with visitation one hour prior, in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
