Donald Ray “Tater” Tate, 70, passed away May 24, 2017. He was a resident of Greenwood.
He was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Indianapolis to the late James L. and Edith F. (Alford) Tate.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Tate, daughters, Laura Tate, Donna Hawkins, Lisa Tate and Anna Underwood; grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Naomi, Joanna, Troy, Rebecca, Michael, Eric, Andrew, Nicholas and Ryley; great-grandchildren, Tristian, Nevaeh, Emma, Silas and Alana; and siblings, Barbara Essig, Patricia Milnes, David Tate, Richard Tate and Janice Tallman.
Donald was in the 1966 class at Center Grove High School.
He was formerly employed as a driver for Dorsey Paving.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. July 10 at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the service time July 10 at the funeral home.
