School supplies sought for Fast Track Program

United Way of Johnson County is collecting school supplies to help low-income students through its annual Fast Track Program.

Donations can be made directly to United Way of Johnson County, at local businesses with collection boxes or at “Stuff the Bus” events. Local businesses with collection boxes include:

  • Horizon Bank branches,
  • Huntington Bank branches,
  • Mutual Savings Bank branches
  • Johnson County Public Library branches and
  • Main St. Self Storage in Greenwood.
  • United Way of Johnson County office

Three “Stuff the Bus” events will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 15 at the Walmart in Franklin, Walmart at State Road 135 and Smith Valley Road, Greenwood and Walmart at Emerson Avenue and County Line, Greenwood.

Items requested include backpacks, three-ring binders, composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, loose leaf paper, scissors, ear buds, yellow highlighters, dry erase markers, glue sticks, markers, colored pencils, red ink pens, rulers and large pink erasers. Due to generous donations, United Way of Johnson County is well-stocked on crayons.
