A garage fire in Bargersville was quickly extinguished early Wednesday afternoon.
Bargersville police officer Justin Griggs was driving past the Harvest Grove neighborhood when he noticed smoke and found the fire at 3081 McIntosh Drive shortly before 1 p.m. He called the Bargersville Fire Department.
He then alerted the homeowner that the garage was on fire, and the two set to work extinguishing the blaze, which had originated in a corner.
Firefighters arrived shortly after the flames had been put out and stayed to survey the scene and assist with cleanup.
The fire was contained to the garage, and none of the adjoining properties in the neighborhood were affected.
The cause of the fire had not yet been determined.
