Mary I. Fish

FRANKLIN

Mary I. Fish, 86, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1930, to Lloyd and Gertrude (Ramsey) Williams.

Mary was the valedictorian of Odon High School. She then received her undergraduate degree from IU, and her graduate degree from ISU.

Mary taught elementary school at Odon Elementary, and later taught second grade at Whiteland Elementary School before retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Honey Creek United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served in Ladies Aid, and she also played piano for over 40 years.

She was convicted in her love for her husband, her church and her children, and was a quintessential grandmother. She will forever be loved and missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald L. Fish; parents, Lloyd and Gertrude Williams; and sister, Betty Clements.

She is survived by her children, Gerald L. Fish, Tim (Sandy) Fish and Donna (Steve) Fish Billman; grandchildren, Jeremy Fish and Cassy Gress, Steven and Amanda Fish and Mary Billman; great-grandchildren, Julian Gress and Haylee Cross; siblings, Norma Harp and Harold (Judy) Williams; cousins, Helen Burdette, Georgia Mason, Margorie Angerer and Thelma Ferguson; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St., Franklin. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
