CONNERSVILLE
Marceille Applegeet, 96, formerly of Connersville, passed away on Friday morning, June 23, 2017, at Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin.
A daughter of Wilbie and Sylvia Henderson Long. Marceille was born on Nov. 27, 1920, in St. Joseph County.
On June 5, 1942, she married Orville Ronald Applegeet. Mr. Applegeet passed away on Sept. 28, 1975.
Marceille worked for Fayette County School Corporation for 25 years before her retirement. She was a member of Harrisburg Union Church and recently a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Franklin, Extension Homemakers, Fayette Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Indiana Rural Carriers Auxiliary, Nimble Thimbles Quilt Club.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Alice and her husband, Norman Lasley of Greenwood and Linda and her husband, Warren Miller of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Neil and Shanna Lasley of Summerfield, North Carolina, Jill and Erik Gibson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kristy and Ted Grulikowski of Atlanta, Georgia, and Kurt and Ilene Miller of Lawrenceville, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Mitch Lasley of Summerfield, North Carolina, and Alex Miller of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Walker Grulikowski of Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to her husband of over 33 years, Orville Applegeet, Marceille was preceded in death by her daughter, Lois Vanderpool; her two sisters, Oletha Brownell and June Freitas; and her parents.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at 1 p.m. Friday at Franklin United Methodist Community, 1070 W. Jefferson St. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Valley Grove Cemetery, Connersville.
