Woman stabbed in Franklin

A woman was stabbed in the face, suffering serious injuries, by a man she is acquainted with, police said.

Franklin police are investigating. The suspect, who the woman knows, was arrested within hours by Indiana State Police during an unrelated traffic stop. He was arrested on a drunk driving charge while Franklin police continue investigating.

The investigation includes warrants for the property and interviews with the suspect, victim and anyone else who may have information, Franklin Police Deputy Chief Chris Tennell said.

The incident happened about 2:20 a.m. Sunday in the Countryview Mobile Home Park, 1199 Hospital Road.

Tesa Miller, 33, had been stabbed in the face and was taken to Methodist Hospital at Indiana University Health, Franklin police said. She had gone to a neighbor for help after the attack, Tennell said.

Detectives were able to quickly identify a suspect, and state police informed Franklin officers that the man was in custody on an unrelated charge, Tennell said. The suspect’s name has not been released. The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what, if any, local charges to file in the incident.

Miller was in serious but stable condition on Sunday, police said.
