Items stolen from cars at apartment complexes

A handgun and other items were stolen from parked cars at apartment complexes on the east side of Greenwood overnight Tuesday, and several car tires were slashed or deflated.

Greenwood police received reports of thefts from vehicles at St. Andrews Apartments, Valle Vista Apartments, the Courts of Valle Vista and Trotters Pointe, which are located within about 2 miles of each other. Three cars at St. Andrews Apartments also had their tires slashed or deflated.

The stolen items included a handgun, shotgun shells, power tools and golf clubs, the reports said.

One resident reported that a tire on his vehicle had been slashed. Two other residents reported that they had multiple deflated tires on their cars, but an officer was unable to identify any cuts to the tires, the reports said.
