Every summer, Mallow Run plans big events surrounding the Big Three holidays of Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. This year’s Fourth of July weekend will offer the opportunity for a new event.
The Red, White & Blueberry Festival will feature three days of music, food trucks and other activities. The winery also will be releasing its blueberry wine over the weekend.
Mallow Run will be open late on July 1, keeping the party going until 9 p.m. Local musicians Andra Faye and Scott Ballantine will warm up the crowds from 1 to 4 p.m., then the Big 80s, a five-piece tribute band focused on the Decade of Decadence, will light up the night. Fireworks will serve as the grand finale.
Organizers have planned a more low-key, but equally entertaining, lineup for the rest of the long weekend. An Innocent Band, covering the music of Billy Joel, will perform during the day on July 2. Country singer-songwriter Christine Nicole will play from 2 to 5 p.m. July 3.
