Police investigate daytime burglary

Police are investigating after a burglar broke into a Greenwood home during the day Tuesday.

Just after 5 p.m., a resident returned to her home in the 1900 block of Mullinix Road and found her front door was damaged and open and items were missing from inside. She took her children outside and called police.

Furniture had been moved, drawers had been opened and their mattress had been moved. The couple made a list of items that were stolen, including TVs, jewelry, money and a printer, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

A neighbor said she heard banging coming from the direction of their house between 8 and 9 a.m. but assumed it was from nearby construction, the report said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 317-346-4654.
