Former Grizzly earns major nomination

Regina Solik, who graduated from Franklin College last month as the most decorated women’s swimmer in school history, picked up yet another honor when she was nominated for the NCAA’s Woman of the Year award.

The award, which recognizes excellence in academics, athletics and service and leadership, is presented annually to a recently graduated student-athlete from an NCAA Division I, II or III school.

Solik was the first Grizzlies athlete to qualify for the NCAA women’s swimming championships and is the owner of six school records. She was named an Academic All-American after the 2016-17 season and graduated with honors in May.
