Board approves financial assistance for company

A Franklin company got a grant to help pay for improvements to its building.

Aisin Holdings, an automotive manufacturing company located at 187 Bartram Parkway, got a grant of up to $50,000 to help pay for new doors on the loading dock for semi-trailers.

The Franklin Redevelopment Commission had agreed to pay 15 percent of the costs of the new doors and unanimously approved the grant at its meeting this week.

Company officials had said Aisin has been growing and needed seven additional dock doors for its shipping business, and also would be hiring up to five new employees.
