NEW WHITELAND
Leonard L. Edwards, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017. He was a resident of New Whiteland.
He was born Aug. 1, 1942, in Lyons, to the late George Axe Edwards and Edith (Goodwin) Edwards.
His memory and legacy carry on through his wife of 45 years, Dianne Edwards; son, Jeffrey (Cara) Edwards; grandchildren, Alex and Max; and siblings, Juanita Emery, Alice Jones, Curtis Edwards and David Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leland Edwards.
Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Korea.
Leonard was a lifetime member of the Whiteland V.F.W., the Greenwood American Legion, Post 252, and the Columbus Moose Lodge. He was also an avid bowler in his younger years.
Since Leonard’s retirement from the Indianapolis Water Company he has worked for Valle Vista Golf Club where he also enjoyed golfing.
A military service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 951 N. Main St., Franklin. Family and Friends may visit from 5 p.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
