Man arrested after drugs found in traffic stop

A man was arrested after police found marijuana and pills in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Greenwood.

Wesley Deaton-Gray, 21, Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of dealing marijuana, dealing a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.

A Greenwood police officer stopped Deaton-Gray’s vehicle near County Line Road and U.S. 31 at 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The officer noticed Deaton-Gray acting suspiciously and searched his vehicle. Inside the trunk, the officer found about 5 ounces of marijuana, ecstasy and prescription pills, along with a scale, the Greenwood Police Department report said.

Deaton-Gray, 1719 E. Knox St., was taken to the Johnson County Jail, where he was held on $4,600 bond.
