Rev. Robert Joseph Dean

FRANKLIN

The Rev. Robert Joseph Dean, 73, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Kindred Health and Rehabilitation Center in Greenwood. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born on June 22, 1943, in Indianapolis to Charles Robert and Dorothy (Henderson) Dean.

He married Judith Ann Henry on Feb. 27, 1965. She lovingly survives.

Other survivors include his children, Jesse James Dean (Karen) and Anthony Lee Dean (Tina); siblings, Frank Dean, Delores Fort, Donna McGowan and Vicky Davis; and grandchildren, Joshua Dean (Cheyenne), Caleb Dean (Chelsea), Connor Dean and Carson Dean.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; sister, Theresa Hedge; and brother, Michael Dean.

He retired from Consolidated Freight Way in Indianapolis. He also drove for Access Johnson County and drove a school bus for Clark-Pleasant School Corporation.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Acton.

He enjoyed playing the banjo and guitar and riding his motorcycle.

The Revs. Bobby Jewell and Bobby Dale Jewell will conduct a service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood where military honors will be conducted by the Greenwood American Legion and the United States Army.
