Scott D. Swingle

FRANKLIN

Scott D. Swingle, 36, of Franklin, died on Monday, May 29, 2017, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

He was born Jan. 5, 1981, in Huntington, to David and Kathy (Shock) Swingle.

He was a 1999 graduate of McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, and a 2004 graduate of Ivy Tech Lafayette, where he received his degree in computer information systems.

He had been a deployment consultant for Salesforce for three years.

He married Andrea D. (Powers) Swingle on Oct. 7, 2009, in St. Helena, California.

He was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills, binge-watching Netflix, playing fantasy football and traveling abroad. His interest in politics and current events led him to Twitter, where he became very active.

Surviving are his wife, Andrea D. (Powers) Swingle of Franklin; his fur baby, Hugo; parents, David and Kathy (Shock) Swingle of Huntington; two brothers, Steven Swingle of Huntington, and Ross Swingle of West Pointe; father-in-law, Dan Powers of Brownsburg, mother-in-law, Jamie Sisco (James) of Brownsburg; and brother-in-law, Joseph Powers of Indianapolis.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service time. A reception will follow the service at the mortuary.
