Summer Means Vacation Bible School

Some students will learn the Bible through Arctic and factory-themed vacation Bible schools.

Other local churches are hoping to draw families to their vacation Bible schools with cookouts and Bible schools in the park.

Here is a peek at some local vacation Bible schools your youngster can get involved in this summer.

Concordia Lutheran

A Greenwood church is exploring God’s might fortress.

Concordia Lutheran Church will host “A Mighty Fortress,” vacation bible school from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 29 to 23 at the church, 305 Howard Road.

A free program and carnival will June 22.

Fair Haven Christian

Students can learn about God in a fun factory-themed vacation Bible school.

Fair Haven Christian Church, 1476 W. County Road 300 South, Franklin, will have its school, “Maker Fun Factory,” from 6 to 8:15 p.m. today through Friday.

Good Shepherd Lutheran

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is hosting its “Rome—Paul and the Underground Church,” vacation Bible school later this month.

The school will be 6 to 8 p.m. June 11 to 15 at the church, 1300 U.S. 31 South, Franklin.

A light meal will be provided before the program.

Grace United Methodist

Grace United Methodist Church has multiple vacation Bible school activities planned.

“Galactic Starveyors,” will be 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. June 26 to 29 at the church, 1300 E. Adams Drive, Franklin.

A preschool day camp is planned for two weeks from 9 a.m. to noon today through Thursday and June 12 to 15. Cost is $45 a week and it is open to kids ages 2, 3 and 4.

A vacation Bible school in the park is 10 a.m. to noon at Province Park in Franklin. Students will learn at the “God is the Universe,” themed school.

Mount Auburn United Methodist

“Maker Fun Factory” is the theme of Mount Auburn United Methodist Church’s vacation Bible school.

The school will be 9 a.m. to noon June 19 to 23 at the church, 3100 W. Stones Crossing Road, Greenwood.

A vacation Bible school celebration will be at 10:30 a.m. June 25. The event will include bounce houses and barbecue and ice cream available for purchase.

Open Door Fellowship

Spies will show up a Franklin vacation Bible school.

Open Door Fellowship, 250 14th St., is having its annual event from 6 to 8 p.m. July 10 to 14.

The theme is “Spy Academy.”

Providence Christian

Students will become stargazers at Providence Christian Church’s vacation Bible school.

Their “Galactic Starveyors” themed school will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today through Thursday at the church, 4080 W. County Road 100 North, Bargersville. Registration can be done at www.pccbargersville.org/vbs

Rocklane Christian

Rocklane Christian Church’s vacation Bible school will be a lesson in cool.

Operation Arctic school will be 6 to 8:45 p.m. June 26 to 30 at the church, 4430 Rocklane Road, Greenwood.

SouthPointe

Kids will take an adventure in the arctic at SouthPointe Church’s annual vacation Bible school.

“Operation Arctic,” will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 19 to 23 at the church, 70 West St., Whiteland.

The school is open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Victory Christian

Students who attend vacation Bible school at Victory Christian Church will feel like they are camping.

The “Camp Out” themed vacation Bible school will be 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 15 and 16 at the church, 1720 Graham St., Franklin.
