Gretha W. Moxley

TAYLORSVILLE

Gretha W. Moxley, 74 of Taylorsville, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1942 in Casey County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Cleavie and Laura (Dickerson) Monday. She married Olvest B. Moxley on Aug. 4, 1961.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Michelle R. Moxley of Taylorsville; brothers, Freddie (Betty) Monday of Edinburgh, Curt (Claretta) Monday of Strawtown, Jimmy Monday of Michigan and Wendell (Joann) Monday; sisters, Fern (Carlos) Beaty, Norma (Darrell) Burton of Edinburgh, Libby Monday of Fairborn, Ohio, Wanda (Max) Lay of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and Lisa (Roger) Brown of London, Kentucly and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Wendell Moxley; brothers, Paul Monday and Carl Dean Monday, and a sister, Charleen Monday.

She was a member of the Parkside Baptist Church in Columbus. After 30 years of service, she retired in 1996 from Lear Corporation in Edinburgh. She enjoyed fishing, camping and time with her family. She will be greatly missed because she was a very special wife, mother and grandmother.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Dr. William Bailey and Rev. Charlie Baldwin at Parkside Baptist Church in Columbus. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh and from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
