Indy man accused of stealing car

An Indianapolis man was arrested after police found him driving a car stolen from a Center Grove home.

Michael Adrian Totty, 37, 1513 E. Kelly St., was arrested on charges of auto theft and driving while suspended with a previous conviction.

At 7 a.m. Tuesday, a woman reported that her car was stolen from her home in the 3300 block of Buckmoor Parkway in the Center Grove area, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy saw Totty driving the car near the intersection of Old Smith Valley and Morgantown roads, according to the report.

Totty was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $4,400 bond.

He also was on house arrest in Marion County after being arrested there on a charge of unlawful possession of a syringe, according to court records.
