SPRING MIGRANT BIRD FIELD TRIP, 7 a.m., June 3, Brown County State Park, meet at Walmart, 1133 N. Emerson Ave., Greenwood. Join Amy Hodson of the Amos Butler Audubon Society chapter and Brown County State Park Naturalist Kashena Hottinger as they lead a hike through Brown County State Park. Target species on the hike will be migrating warblers, vireos, tanagers, and flycatchers. More specifically, the group will be seeking Kentucky, hooded, and worm-eating warblers. Group will hike 2-3 miles through various terrains that could include steep hillsides, so wear appropriate footwear. Hottinger will talk during the hike on the history of Brown County State Park and other features of the park to enjoy (besides birding). The gate fee is $7 per vehicle. Meet at 7 a.m. at the Walmart located at 1133 N. Emerson Ave. in Greenwood. Participants can expect to return to Indy around 1 p.m. Registration is encouraged but not required. CAR SHOW AND FISH FRY, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 17, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Bargersville, 101 East Street, Bargersville, will host the its 10th annual open class car show and fish fry; car registration 8 a.m. to noon. The space also includes a large-group experience that offers access to nine journeys on its 22.5-foot by 7.5-foot screen, which features twice the resolution of a 1080i high-definition television set. Each station includes at least one journey for each of Indiana’s 92 counties, as well as “Indiana Stories” on subject matters such as African-American Hoosiers, the Civil War, the Ohio River, mapping the state, social justice and reform, rail transportation, agriculture and more are also explored.
