Herbert Leroy Ohlrogge

WHITELAND

Herbert Leroy Ohlrogge, 86, of Whiteland, formerly of Evansville, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at Kindred Transitional Care in Greenwood.

Herb was born June 24, 1930, in Merrill, Wisconsin, to the late Harry and Gertrude Ohlrogge. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of Rem-X Office Supplies and after retiring from Rem-X worked for Wal-Mart for 15 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1947 until 1954. He served in Korea where he was wounded in 1953 and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of VFW in Whiteland and also VFW Post 6978 in Evansville.

Surviving Herb are two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Lutterbach of Mt. Vernon and Debbie (Kenton) Ray of Trafalger; three sisters, Dorothy Walker, Jane Pichette and Janet Claflin, and two brothers, Donald and Clifford Ohlrogge, all of Wisconsin; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at noon CDT Saturday at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Buckskin. Burial will follow in the St. John’s United Church of Christ Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. CDT until service time on Saturday at the church.
