Magic of Learning: Johnson County Library’s Summer Program

Families can see a magic show as a way to get excited about summer learning.

The Johnson County Public Library is conducting kick-off parties to mark the beginning of the summer learning program.

Laura Carr, children’s librarian at the White River Township branch, tells you what you need to know.

When and where is the event?

There are four opportunities to see Magic Don’s “Build a Better World…One Story at a Time!” show.

  • 4 to 5 p.m. June 5 at the Franklin Branch, 401 State St.
  • 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 5 at the Trafalgar branch, 424 S. Tower St.
  • 4 to 5 p.m. June 6 at the White River branch, 1664 Library Blvd., Greenwood
  • 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 6 at the Clark-Pleasant branch, 530 Tracy Road, New Whiteland.

Who can come?

Everyone is invited to attend! Adults and children alike will enjoy the show!

How much does it cost?

Free of charge! This event, and participation in the Summer Learning Program, is free and open to all!

What activities will be planned?

FamilyTime Entertainment and Magic Don will be presenting “Build a Better World Magic Show.” Learn about architecture, tools and inventors through stories, comedy and magic! Stop by a reference desk after the show to register for the Summer Learning Program.

Why did you decide to have the event?

Johnson County Public Library would like to reach many families to encourage participation in the Summer Learning Program, designed to engage children and families in reading and learning activities during the summer break.
