Barbara F. Gasick

FRANKLIN

Barbara F. Gasick of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. 

She was born Oct. 4, 1940, in Harvey, Illinois to the late Clarence and Clara Becker. She was a printer for many decades and taught in Catholic grade school for eight years. She enjoyed Bible study and was an avid gardener and was known to have a “green thumb.”

Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always enjoyed taking care of her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years Thomas Gasick, of Franklin; daughter, Karen Brake (Don) of Newburgh; son, Mark Gasick (Julie) of Elburn, Illinois; grandchildren, Catherine Lindenschmidt (Aaron), Melissa Bruner (Trevor), Rudy Brake (Dani), Rebecca Brake, Christopher Brake, Seth Gasick and Abby Gasick; great-grandchildren, Mya Lindenschmidt; and sister, Gerry Crandall-Gunther of Jerseyville, Illinois.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Carol Bremigan.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, followed by a mass of christian burial at 10 a.m.at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Ruperts Cemetery in Newburgh.
