Franklin College to host baseball camps

Franklin College will be hosting four summer baseball camps for players ages 7 to 18 at John P. McDowell Field. All clinics will be directed by Grizzlies head coach Lance Marshall.

A two day hitting camp will be conducted from 9 to 11 a.m. June 1 and 2. The camp will feature individual instruction in hitting, bunting and baserunning. Many training aids will be used, including video sessions for each camper. The cost for the two days is $55 now or $65 after May 29.

A two-day pitcher & catcher skills camp will be June 1 and 2, running from noon to 2 p.m. both days. Pitchers will concentrate on pitching mechanics, proper techniques for pitch variation and pickoff moves. Catchers will receive instruction in blocking, receiving and throwing. The cost for the camp is $40 now and $50 after May 29.

A skills camp for ages 7 to 14 is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 6 to 9. An advanced skills camp” for ages 11 and 14 will take place concurrently.

The cost for each camp is $140 for the week ($150 after May 29) and includes lunch each day.
