GREENWOOD
Celeste Armstrong Scheibler, 95, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully Monday, May 22, 2017.
Mrs. Scheibler was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Lynn, to the late Foster and Teresa (Cotter) Armstrong.
She graduated from Morton High School and later attended Indiana Business College.
She and her late husband, Robert, were innovative in real estate long before flipping houses became popular. She enjoyed a successful career in real estate and was also co-owner of the Dairy Queen in Richmond.
Additionally, Mrs. Scheibler was a devoted volunteer with the American Cancer Society. After moving to Greenwood more than 20 years ago, she became a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Scheibler, and her brother, Father Daniel Armstrong.
Survivors include her sons, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Mark Scheibler (Gale) and Scott Scheibler (Malya); daughter-in-law, Ilse Scheibler; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today in the chapel at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, with visitation there from 10 a.m. until the Mass. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
