FRANKLIN

Normand G. Dunlap, 87, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

He was born May 31, 1929, in Indianapolis, to Erroll and Francis V. (Merritt) Dunlap.

He married Elizabeth (May) Dunlap on May 29, 1955, in Indianapolis; she survives.

He had worked for Union Planters Bank in Indianapolis and formerly for Ted’s Aqua Marine and A&P Supermarkets.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of Christian Chapel Church in Morgantown.

He enjoyed horses, fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth (May) Dunlap of Franklin; two sons, Gene Dunlap (Cheryl) of Whiteland, and John Dunlap (Marti) of Franklin; two daughters, Celeste Winscott (Richard) and Norma Mull (Wade), both of Whiteland; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl Dunlap, who lives on the West Coast.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Dunlap and Richard Dunlap; and a sister, Irma West.

The Rev. Larry McAdams will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood with military honors.
