Greenwood school searched after bomb threat

Greenwood Middle School was searched for a bomb early Wednesday morning after employees received a threat on the school’s voicemail.

Police were called to the school on Madison Avenue in downtown Greenwood at 7:24 a.m. A caller had left a voice mail that a bomb in the school cafeteria was going to go off at 8 a.m., Greenwood Police Assistant Chief Matt Fillenwarth said.

The school was searched and cleared by Greenwood police, and was back to normal operations before 8:30 a.m., Fillenwarth said.

Police are investigating.
