Cougars fall to Seton Catholic

Greenwood Christian was defeated in five innings by Seton Catholic on Saturday, 13-2. The loss places the Cougars at 5-4 (2-1 PAAC), snapping their four-game win streak.

Trojans double up

Center Grove competed in both the Sollman Invitational and Athenian Classic on Saturday. The Trojans’ Red team shot a 299 to take first place out of 18 teams at the prestigious Sollman tourney. Meanwhile, Center Grove’s White team shot 306 at the Athenian Classic to take first out of 12 teams.

Franklin takes tournament title

Franklin came in first place at the Mooresville Golf Invitational on Saturday. The Grizzly Cubs shot 299 as a team. Javan Johnson took medalist honors with 1-under-par 71. Emerson Downing also carded a 71 but fell to Johnson in a playoff for the top individual spot.

Braves fifth in WIC tourney

Indian Creek participated in the Western Indiana Conference tournament Saturday. The Braves finished fifth out of 12 teams, shooting 378.

Edinburgh places sixth

Edinburgh competed in the Mid-Hoosier Conference tournament at North Branch Golf Course on Saturday. The Lancers shot 501 to finish sixth out of six teams.

Grizzly Cubs split pair

Franklin finished one-and-one at a home invitational Saturday. The Grizzly Cubs picked a 3-2 victory against Brown County, but later fell to Oldenburg Academy by the same score.

Schooler becomes singles champ

Edinburgh competed in the Mid-Hoosier Conference tournament Saturday. Allie Schooler took first place in the No. 1 singles bracket to become conference champion.

Grizzly Cubs claim regional crown

Fourth-seeded Franklin survived a five-set marathon Saturday, defeating Brownsburg to win an IBVCA regional championship. The Grizzly Cubs pulled out a 23-25, 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 15-6 triumph behind 50 assists from Hunter Gross and 21 kills by A.J. Rice.

The Grizzly Cubs will play No. 5 Cathedral in a state quarterfinal Friday night at Southport.

Trojans lose in regional

Center Grove competed in regional play at Cardinal Ritter on Saturday. The Trojans lost to No. 8 Cardinal Ritter in the semifinal, 3-0, to finish the season at 5-13 overall.
