Vena Pearson, 69, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:16 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at her home.
Vena was a member of Lowell General Baptist Church.
She retired from the Edinburgh Premium Outlets.
Mrs. Pearson was born June 22, 1947, in Rose Hill, Virginia.
She married Alvin J. Pearson, July 15, 1963.
Survivor include her husband of nearly 54 years, Alvin; her children, Patricia A. (Marshall) McElroy of Hope, Vickie J. (Davy) Pickett of Lakeland, Florida and Christopher J. (Lindy) Pearson of Brown County; sisters, Janice (Danny) Martin of Edinburgh, Wilma Roark of Virginia and Betty (Jack) Baily of Indianapolis; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bashie Ayers; her children, Ricky Joe and Melissa Ann Pearson; and a brother, Hubert Ayers.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus with the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at 9 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
