INDIANAPOLIS
Judith May Burkman, age 73, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, with her family at her side.
She was born Feb. 7, 1944, in Indianapolis to Gerald and Virginia (Everman) Deer.
She was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School with the class of 1961. Judy worked at Indiana Bell as an operator for 11 years, R.C.A. for four years, and in insurance for 15 years.
She was a very devoted wife and mother who was also an avid bowler when she was younger. She was loved and admired by her family and friends and she will be sorely missed.
Judy married William Burkman on April 3, 1967, in Jonesville, Virginia and he survives along with sons, Dave (Tammy) Burkman of Nineveh and Dan (Lisa) Burkman of Morgantown, daughter, Debbie Burkman Appel of Hazel Green, Alabama; sister, Bev (Jim) Workman of Martinsville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor John Money officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
