INDIANAPOLIS
Geraldine “Gerry” Thorne, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Born March 3, 1932, in Indianapolis, to the late Charles and Ruth Mae Thorne, she was a 1949 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School.
Gerry was a member of Emmanuel Church of Greenwood.
She enjoyed shopping and TV.
She retired from USA Track & Field.
Survivors include brothers, Raymond “Gene” Thorne (Sherry), Ronald Cross (Michelle); sister-in-law, Joan Thorne; many wonderful nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother Robert E. Thorne, and sister, Betty Maxine Cutshaw.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
