Kenna C. (Slick) Gartner

MORGANTOWN

Kenna C. (Slick) Gartner, 87, passed away peacefully  Friday evening, May 5, 2017, at the Morgantown Health Care Inn. She was a resident of Morgantown.

Kenna was born Dec. 5, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Kenneth and Elenora (Adams) Slick.

She was a graduate of Southport High School and went on to marry Robert Gartner Sr. on Nov. 25, 1948, in Indianapolis. He loving survives after 68 devoted years of marriage.

Kenna, along with her husband, were retired owners and operators of Shady Oaks Lake Campground in Brown County, Woodcroft Construction and the Woodcroft Center. Prior to that, she worked for Indiana Bell in Indianapolis.

Kenna was a member of the Saint Marks Catholic Church in Indianapolis. She enjoyed spending time with her family, working crossword and word search puzzles and bowling.

Kenna is survived by her husband, Robert Gartner Sr. of Morgantown; children, Christina (Thomas) Buccos, Robert Gartner Jr. and Steven (Kathy) Gartner, all of Morgantown, and John (Darla) Garnter of Spearsville; brother, Harry (Claire) Slick of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
