Ruth M. Yarnell

MOORESVILLE

Ruth M. Yarnell, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Mooresville and former resident of Franklin.

She was born Jan. 16, 1942, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to Harvey and Olive M. Stiver.

She married Gerald R. “Doc” Yarnell on Sept. 16, 1961. He survives.

Other survivors include three children, Jerry (Judy) Yarnell of Franklin, Justine (Cully) Kinnick of Nineveh and Jennifer Yarnell (fiancé, Jeff Ackerman) of Indianapolis. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Jenna and Jacob Yarnell, Clay and Grant Kinnick; and one great-grandchild, Jorgia Yarnell.

Ruth graduated from Bellwood Antis High School in Bellwood, Pennsylvania.

She was employed as a keypunch operator at Indianapolis Power & Light, later leaving her job to become a stay-at-home mom.

She loved crafting, working in her vegetable and flower gardens and cooking. Her specialty was baking, for which she won numerous awards at the Johnson and Morgan county fairs.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
