Two churches hosting National Day of Prayer events

Two local churches are hosting day-long observances of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday. All are welcome and invited.

Here’s what’s planned:

Rocklane Christian Church (Chapel), 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., 4430 Rocklane Road, Greenwood.

Open to the community.

Open house for prayer in church chapel

Prayer guides for individuals and families to pray for our government, schools, families, neighborhoods and churches.

Prayer warriors will be present to pray along with those who request specific prayer for personal needs.

A prayer board will be available for guests to leave personal prayers that the church prayer team will continue to pray over after the event.

Communion will be available all day.

Grace United Methodist Church

6:30 to 8:30 a.m., drive-thru prayer, drive to door A1 at the church, receive prayer-blessing on the way to work.

Noon, Prayer on the Square, prayer on the Johnson County courthouse lawn. All are welcome.

12:30 p.m., prayer walk at Franklin United Methodist Community. Residents welcome and encouraged to attend.
