Show, concert choirs earn state berths

Show choirs and concert choirs at several local high schools sang and danced their way to berths at the state competition.

Franklin Community High School’s Bella Voce women’s choir and the Signature Sound mixed choir earned spots in state competition at the Indiana State School Music Association qualifying choir competition.

Bella Voce performs at 9:16 p.m. Friday and Signature Sound tries for a state title at 5:22 p.m. Saturday at Pike High School, 5401 W. 71st St., Indianapolis.

A combination choir at Whiteland Community High School earned a berth to state too.

Shades of Blue and Rhythm Masters scored high enough to be a concert choir finalist. The teens perform at 4:28 p.m. Saturday at Pike.

Center Grove High School’s CG Singers earned at gold rating at the qualification event, but will not be performing at state.
