Barry Kent Lasley

TRAFALGAR

Barry Kent Lasley, 59, passed away on Friday evening, April 28, 2017, at the IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Trafalgar.

Barry was born on May 18, 1957, in Indianapolis. He was a 1976 graduate of Indian Creek High School.

He married Malinda S. (Williams) Lasley on July 20, 1980, in Peoga. She lovingly survives after 36 years of devoted marriage.

Barry is also survived by his mother, Myra (Rabb) Ellis of Inverness, Florida; son, Greg (Amanda) Lasley of Trafalgar; siblings, Carol (Jim) Coddling of Florida, Bruce (Jamie) Lasley and Kevin (Annette) Lasley, both of Franklin; and grandchildren, Barrett and Bristal Lasley, both of Trafalgar.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dale Lasley; and his stepfather, Robert Ellis.

Barry was employed as a tool and die maker for General Motors, both in Indianapolis and Bedford, for the past 26 years. He was a member of the Local UAW.

Barry enjoyed the outdoors by deer and turkey hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed tending to his property in northern Brown County using his John Deere tractor.

Barry was a fan of NASCAR and the Indianapolis Colts.

He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.

The Pastor Ben Greenbaum will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
